Kirby escapes jail time for shooting fisherman

A man who wounded a boater fishing on a lake behind his house will serve no jail time. The elderly decorated veteran was placed on probation for three years.The shooter, Floyd Kirby Jr., 75, was given three years probation by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley. He was convicted on the lesser charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment following a jury trial earlier this year.
