A man has been indicted on felony assault charges for hurling a barbell through his wife’s car window as she tried to leave. The suspect, Jonathan W. Kestner, 25, was indicted on the charge of aggravated assault which carries a penalty of three to six years in prison. The indictment comes after Kestner and his wife began arguing about people whom she had been texting. At some point Kestner’s wife walked out and got into her Honda Accura with plans to leave. However, Kestner followed her to her car.“He picked up a 20-pound, iron dumbbell and threw it at the driver’s side window, breaking the window,” said deputy Jorge Rivera in his warrant against Kestner. The dumbbell, Rivera said, hit Kestner’s wife in the face when it crashed through the window.“It struck her in the face causing a black eye, swollen lip, busted chin and bad cut to her forehead,” Rivera said.A further investigation revealed both of the Kestners had been drinking leading up to the incident.
