Warren County Executive John Pelham received an official letter from General Sessions/ Juvenile Court Judge Larry G. Ross on Tuesday tendering his resignation effective Jan. 15.By state statute, Ross’ resignation will require the Warren County Commission to appoint a qualified individual to fill this vacancy since Ross is an elected official. This will be done at the regular commission meeting Monday, Jan. 16.Ross’ office has arranged for his court duties to be covered until a replacement can be appointed. In a telephone conversation with Pelham on Friday, Ross said there is no major reason for his resignation other than the fact he has worked solid for the past 30 years, with the past 13 years on the bench. Ross, who owns a beach home in the Dominican Republic, further stated he has no particular plans other than to take some time off to decide exactly what he wants to do.In Ross’ letter of resignation, he thanked the community for its support over the years.“Words cannot express the gratitude I have for the voters of this county in allowing me to serve them over the past 13 years.
