Johnson jailed for shotgun incident

A man who pointed a sawed-off shotgun in his girlfriend’s face will serve four months in jail.The defendant, David Allen Johnson, 38, was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to serve 120 days of a four-year sentence and to undergo a drug and alcohol assessment on the charge of aggravated assault.His sentencing on the felony assault comes after police were called to a residence on Towles Avenue. Upon arriving, they were told Johnson had pulled a gun on his girlfriend.“She stated her boyfriend had pointed a sawed-off shotgun at her and threatened to kill her,” said McMinnville police officer Chris Hutchins in his warrant against Johnson, noting the man also threatened her with a knife. “She further stated he threatened to kill her with a knife he took from his pocket.”A search of the residence netted a sawed-off shotgun hidden in the pillows of a sofa.
