Jail inmates could see early release

To ease overcrowding at Warren County Jail, the county is considering setting aside $1,000 a month to begin a Work Release Program, also known as house arrest, where nonviolent inmates will be released to their homes wearing ankle bracelets.“We’ve estimated the cost at $1,000 a month,” said Finance Department director Linda Hillis to members of the county’s Budget and Finance Committee on Tuesday. “It could be more or it could be less.
