Injured bicyclist identified as Thatch

The mystery man struck while riding a bicycle on South Chancery Street on Thursday night has been identified.
Police have determined the critically injured man is Jonathan Thatch, age unknown, from McMinnville. He was hit late Thursday night by a motorist near the wedding chapel on South Chancery Street. Police were responding to a call of a reckless cyclist at the time as another motorist reported seeing the cyclist weaving in out and of lanes in a dangerous manner. He was found lying on the pavement near the car that hit him when police arrived.
He was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga from the nearby high school. His condition has improved under treatment as he is now able to talk to investigating officers. No charges are expected in regard to the motorist who struck him.
