Horton-looking bus ready for Dr. Seuss Christmas Parade

The holiday season gets in full swing tomorrow with McMinnville’s annual Christmas Parade at 2:30 p.m., followed by a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 4:30 p.m.“It’s A Dr. Seuss Christmas” is the parade theme in what may offer a first in parade history – a school bus decorated as an elephant, according to Brian Riley, general manager of Durham School Services.“I can’t tell you how excited everyone is about this,” said Riley. “They are working really hard.”While a bus is not enough to cause fervor from those who drive them routinely, decorating one to look like an elephant would do it, says Durham dispatcher Donhua Cantrell.“We are creating Horton using one of our buses,” she said. “He will have a trunk, ears and a tail.
