A man will serve a year in jail for beating up his own mother.The defendant, Taylor Dain Holton, 25, entered a guilty plea before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to the reduced charge of domestic assault. He was given an 11-month, 29-day sentence to serve at Warren County Jail. He was originally charged with felony assault, a crime which carries three to six years in prison.
