The final resting place for some Warren County residents needs a helping hand from descendants in providing continued care.Peeled Chestnut Cemetery is pre-Civil War and located in Sparta at 788 Peeled Chestnut Lane. The cemetery is community-based and not church affiliated. Residents from White County and surrounding counties are buried there, with 11 placed last year.“There are a lot of Warren County residents buried here, absolutely,” said Joe Oakley, a member of Peeled Chestnut Cemetery Board.
