It’s not the time of year to be stuck in the cold or left without heat. With temperatures expected to plummet to single digits this week, there have been a flood of requests for assistance. This includes everything from local residents seeking warm clothing, help with a utility bill, or even a place to sleep for the night.“Winter is the worst time, especially when the temperature gets below 10 degrees” said local Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency director Kim Luton. “Right here in Warren County we’ve helped five families find emergency shelter the past two weeks.”Luton said the Upper Cumberland Area Transit System (UCARTS) makes two trips from Warren County to Nashville a day.
