A man who stole a car only to be caught when police followed a tracker to his location will serve 300 days in jail.The defendant, Erin Hailey Heather, 24, entered a guilty plea before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of grand theft and evading arrest and was directed to serve 180 days of a four-year sentence. He additionally entered a guilty plea to being in violation of his probation on his former conviction on the charge of promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine. He was given 120 more days to serve as part of the violation making his total jail time 300 days.His jail time comes after a 2001 Chevy Malibu disappeared from a car lot on South Chancery Street.
