A handcuffed suspect hurdled fences and fought tooth and nail with deputies before he was subdued and taken to jail.“He put up one heck of a fight,” said Sheriff Jackie Matheny of the suspect, Israel Rodriguez Martinez, 23, who led lawmen on a foot pursuit from a Grizzle Lane home Wednesday morning. The chase began when a deputy went to serve an outstanding warrant on Martinez. He was wanted for running away from the scene of a wreck a few days earlier.Upon seeing the officer, Martinez tried to get away and battled the lawman who was able to get him subdued and in handcuffs as other deputies sped to his aid. However, the chase was just beginning after the suspect was placed in the back of the deputy’s car.
