A short run from justice will cost an inmate two extra years behind bars for bolting from guards as he was being led into the courthouse.The escapee, Timothy D. Gay, 30, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of aggravated assault, theft, aggravated burglary, and felony escape. He was given a total seven-year sentence for the list of crimes, two of those years being piled on for his escape.Gay bolted from guards as he was being led into the courthouse from the transport van. He was able to free himself from his leg shackles by picking the lock with a bobby pin and then made a break for it when the van door was opened.
