The owners of a popular restaurant in Mt. Leo have been found murdered in their home.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Gary and Gail Dodson were found dead inside their home on Tony Lane this morning. Concern was raised when they didn’t show up for work Monday morning.
A homicide investigation is under way and their son-in-law Bryan Cooke has been identified as a prime suspect. Authorities believe he could be headed to Florida where he has ties.
Law enforcement officials believe Cooke is driving a 1997 white Jeep Grand Cherokee with license plate No. K7245V. The front of the vehicle has a plate that says "Gary and Gail's Pit Stop."
No motive has been established. Agents with the TBI have been called to the scene.
The two operated Gary and Gail’s Pit Stop in Mt. Leo for the past eight years, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before that, they operated Bridgeside Market, also on Beersheba Street, for a number of years. The two had nearly 50 years of experience in the restaurant industry with Gary working at Dairy Chef at a young age.
Gary and Gail’s Pit Stop is a family business with the Dodsons’ daughters, Amber and Kelly, also working in the restaurant.
