Members of the Belmont Jazz Ensemble will be performing a free show this Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m. at the Park Theater. Members of the WCHS choir will open the show.
Some of America’s most beloved songs will be performed by top musicians from one of the country’s foremost music schools in a free concert at the Park Theatre this Saturday starting at 7 p.m.Members of the Warren County High School choir will sing in the concert opener for the Belmont Jazz Ensemble, a group of eight instrumentalists and a vocalist from Belmont University’s School of Music. The Rotary Club of McMinnville is presenting the evening of American popular classics as a gift to the community.“It is a great honor to be able to bring to McMinnville some of the finest student musicians from an internationally acclaimed university music program,” said Noon Rotary president Jeff Flatt. “And bringing this extraordinary event to the iconic, beautifully restored Park Theatre makes this a truly historic occasion.”Dr. Alex Graham, assistant professor of saxophone at Belmont, leads the ensemble, made up of advanced students, several of whom are already professionally active in the commercial music scene in Nashville.
