Just over a week remains for candidates to file their petitions to run for one of the three McMinnville aldermanic spots that will be up for grabs in the upcoming November city election, an election where no incumbents are expected to run for reelection. As of Tuesday afternoon, nine potential candidates had picked up their papers at the election office. To qualify, the hopefuls must obtain signatures of 25 registered McMinnville city voters and return the completed petition to the election office before noon on Aug. 21.
