Law enforcement officers and firefighters were honored by McMinnville’s Noon Exchange Club on Tuesday as the organization conferred its annual honors for excellence in public service.Rachel Nichols was named Police Officer of the Year. Nichols has served with McMinnville Police Department since coming here from Smyrna in 2012. She is a recent graduate of MTSU and serves as the field training officer and a member of the tactical team.“She is an excellent officer,” said McMinnville Police Chief Bryan Denton.
