If you like to play hide and seek, or if you like scavenger hunts, you will want to participate in the Southern Standard’s newest promotion for Try Here Buy Here.
Try Here Buy Here is a campaign spearheaded by local businesses to encourage people to shop in Warren County and keep sales tax dollars at home. Scavenger hunt participants will be trying to find the new Try Here Buy Here mascot, Warren C. Bear.
Once you find Warren, you’ll know it. He’s a stuffed bear dressed in a red Try Here Buy Here T-shirt.
Clues to Warren’s whereabouts will be located in ads in the Standard beginning Sunday, June 30. The scavenger hunt trying to find Warren will begin Monday, July 1 and will end Thursday, July 18. Participants can win $50 gift cards at participating businesses.
Warren C. Bear will move from business to business. Registering to win is as simple as finding Warren and writing your name and phone number on a slip of paper. You may enter to win each day you find Warren.
The grand prize drawing will be held at Marketville, the giant yard sale being held at Warren County Fairgrounds. Marketville is set for Saturday, July 20, and the drawing will be at noon. You must be present to win.
Marketville will transform the fairgrounds into a massive yard sale, craft fair and car show from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Food, live music, activities, and door prizes will also be available. Admission is free.
“Hopefully this is something people will have fun with,” said Standard employee Sharon Patrick, one of the Try Here Buy Here organizers. “We hope to get people into the stores to shop and keep our tax dollars at home.”
