Two women who hitched a ride with a man and then robbed him have been indicted as law enforcement officials continue to look for their partners in crime.
The women, Misty Beth Martin and Amber Lea Keenan Moser, were both indicted by the grand jury on the charge of robbery. There are also outstanding indictments for other persons believed to have assisted in the heist.
According to sheriff’s investigator Kelly Carter, the victim, identified as a Hispanic male, was approached by the women at a local apartment complex and asked for a ride. He reportedly did not know the ladies.
“They lured him to drive them onto a back road and then they attacked him,” said Carter, noting the women were not alone in the robbery conspiracy.
The victim noticed while he was fighting off the two women that a white SUV had pulled up behind his car. The vehicle had followed them. Carter believes the girls set up the ambush with some male friends ahead of time.
Realizing the odds were not in his favor, the victim bolted from his vehicle as two men got out of the SUV and started to walk toward him. In the meantime, the women were able to get his wallet away from him. The women, along with the men in the SUV, then fled the scene with over $300 cash belonging to the victim.
