Fairgrounds to be filled with activity

Over 100 vendors will be packed into Warren County Fairgrounds tomorrow as the Southern Standard sponsors its Marketville & Car Show beginning at 9 a.m.
Admission is free.
The event is a variation of Back to the ’60s Day, which was held at the fairgrounds the previous two years. This year, the ’60s theme has been dropped with newspaper employees concentrating on a day-long festival that features food, entertainment, and plenty of shopping.
Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day, including the grand prize of $850 in gift certificates in conjunction with the Warren C. Bear contest. The grand prize drawing will be held at noon.
Food vendors will fill the area around Grandstand Arena as part of the 103 vendors who have registered to participate. There will also be dozens of vendors selling yard-sale items, as well as a number of crafters.
A cornhole tournament is another attraction with the winning two-person team receiving a cash prize based on the number of entries. It costs $10 a team to enter the tournament with registration starting at 1:30 p.m. and the tournament beginning at 2 p.m.
Registration for the car show begins at 8 a.m. with the show starting at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $10.
A professional wrestling show is also scheduled. However, since rain will damage the ring, the show will be weather permitting.
