Drama class offers chance to get gory

Blood and gore came to Warren County High School on Wednesday in the form of theatrical makeup.WCHS theater arts students applied their stagecraft skills during drama classes with the help of students and instructors from Georgia Career Institute of McMinnville.Trained makeup artists and aestheticians demonstrated how to apply various types of stage makeup in a variety of categories including corrective natural, stylized and fantasy.One of the most popular applications was the gross and gory category, which had students sporting fake bullet holes, bites and gashes. Some students turned into the walking dead, with the application of zombie makeup.WCHS student Torri Adams said, “I liked looking all creepy and seeing people’s reactions when they saw me. It was pretty cool.”Adams said she is not sure what career path she will choose but drama is a possibility.
