Downtown by Moonlight, a popular annual event on Main Street to celebrate Valentine’s Day, has been reined in due to weather predictions. The carriage ride will not be offered this year.“Due to inclement weather forecast for Friday, Feb. 14, the Promotions Committee has decided not to sponsor the carriage ride for Downtown by Moonlight,” said Main Street McMinnville executive director Carla King. The cancellation has put a damper on festivities.“We realize that is a big draw for downtown on that night, but with the weather predicted to be bad and sickness going around we felt it would be best to cancel that portion of the event,” said King.
