A scam in one community is a legitimate fundraiser in another just five miles away.Viola Fire Department is in fact going door to door to solicit donations for new fire equipment.“We actually have folks going door to door collecting donations to help buy a new tanker for the department,” said Viola Fire Chief Wayne Davenport. “I think some folks down here in Viola opened the paper Wednesday morning and thought they’d been scammed.”The story in Wednesday’s edition pertained to an actual scam. Morrison residents were being asked to donate $40 to Morrison Fire Department to help buy a new tanker.
