A Disciplinary Review Board for Warren County Jail has been set.
The county’s Corrections Partnership Committee, formerly known as the Jail Oversight Committee, met Monday and approved a six-member panel to review disciplinary issues at the jail involving inmates.
The two-year terms of current members Joe Basham, Eddie Knowles, Treva Lawson, Yvonne McGinness, Sharon Reed, and Anita Youngblood expired this month.
Warren County Sheriff Jackie Matheny presented a list of six names for committee approval. While Knowles and Lawson have agreed to two more years, he recommended the four leaving the panel to be replaced by James Black, Scott Halloway, Evan Cooper and Tommy Myers.
“We’re here to consider the Disciplinary Review Board approval,” said County Commissioner Morris Bond, chairman. “Jackie brought us six names. Do I hear a motion to approve them?”
The Disciplinary Review Board looks into circumstances surrounding a particular incident with the emphasis on breaches in discipline. Members of the board are objective observers who interview all of the people involved and then collectively make a determination and recommendation. Members do not have the final say in disciplinary issues.
Matheny’s recommendation on board members was passed unanimously by Bond, as well as Commissioners Carl D. Bouldin, Billy Earl Jones and Kenny Roberts. Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Scott Rubley.
Later that evening, the list was approved by the full Warren County Commission.
