"Disaster" coming to hospital
River-Park
Saint Thomas River Park Hospital will be holding an emergency response drill Friday morning.
This is only a test.If you see emergency responders swarming with guns drawn around Saint Thomas River Park on Friday morning, the hospital is not under siege. Local officials want the public to know it’s an emergency response drill to test their level of preparedness.“This is at the request of the hospital to practice their procedures and we saw it as an opportunity ourselves to practice our response and our communication,” said McMinnville Police Chief Bryan Denton.Denton said the drill will involve all aspects of emergency response. This includes the 911 center, ambulance personnel, firefighters, police officers, sheriff’s deputies, constables, and members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
