As landline phones continue to disappear, so is funding for local 911 centers.Landline phones are one of three sources of revenue for 911, which collects a $1.50 surcharge every month from home phones. However, with Warren County losing an average of 6 to 7 percent of its landlines each year, it’s putting a dent in 911 funding.“The overall picture is pretty bleak when it comes to landline revenue,” said Warren County 911 director Chuck Haston. “If we continue this way, what is it going to look like five years down the road?
