McMinnville’s Board of Zoning Appeals has rejected a 1,000-foot variance request that would allow a digital billboard to be placed at one of the busiest intersections in town — Smithville Highway and the bypass.Board members rejected the request 4-1 with David Marttala, Steve Harvey, Jerry Williamson and Tom Ward voting against it. Roy Pierce voted in favor of it. This is the second request for a variance for the sign’s placement, with the first being in July.
