The third annual Multi-County Wildlife Meeting for Warren, White, Van Buren and Bledsoe counties is being held Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Fair Exhibit building located at 445 College Street in Spencer.
District conservationist Matt Feno hopes a variety of people will attend the event, landowners as well as hunters.
“Everyone might not hunt turkey and deer,” said Feno. “Some people may want to learn how to attract them to their land just to watch them. We invite anyone who is interested in all aspects of wildlife to come. We discuss different topics each year.”
The agenda for the evening is:
• 5:30-6 p.m.– Registration
• 6-6:45 p.m. – Welcome/ BBQ meal provided by 2nd Act Deli of Sparta
• 6:45-8 p.m. – Speaker Dr. Craig Harper, professor of wildlife management at UT. He will be speaking on “How to Manage Your Fields and Woods for Deer and Turkey”
• 8-8:15 p.m. – Kyle Walling and Brandon Geesling, TWRA officers
• 8:15-8:30 – Door prizes and game camera giveaway
The meeting is sponsored by Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Quail Forever, UT Extension, Bridgestone, United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Bledsoe, Van Buren, Warren and White County Soil Conservation Districts.
