Couple jailed for stealing car from mall

A couple was given four months in jail and must make thousands of dollars in restitution for passing hot checks after stealing them – and a car – from Three Star Mall.The defendants, Lucas Winston Hedgecoth, 27, and Jamie Seamons Powell, 24, entered guilty pleas to charges of burglary, forgery and theft. They were both sentenced to serve 120 days of three-year sentences. They were also directed to make restitution in the amount of $3,547.The couple was arrested earlier this year in Murfreesboro in possession of a stolen 2005 Ford Escape taken from the Three Star Mall parking lot.The vehicle was stolen from a mall employee who had noticed earlier in the evening her keys were missing from the place she had stored them, but her vehicle was still there.
