Improved school security is one step closer to becoming a reality thanks to the county’s Budget and Finance Committee which has voted to amend a capital outlay note to fund the $88,990 project to upgrade security. The original project called for card readers to be installed on the inside and outside of staff access doors. The original bids of $128,112 and $97,438 were higher than estimated and were rejected in May. The project was revamped and rebid. The project to be funded will not include inside card readers on staff access doors.
