County budget has no tax increase

The spirit of cooperation reached a new level Monday night as the Warren County Commission unanimously approved $1.99 tax levy, the ninth straight budget with no property tax increase. In fact, it was a unanimous night, as the 24-member commission passed every one of the 11 items of new business, which included the consolidated county budget, the school budget, and nonprofit contributions, without a single negative vote, ending the meeting on a positive note that was not missed by County Executive John Pelham.“Tonight’s vote is the result of weeks and months of hard work in committees,” Pelham said. “We’ve had discussions, we’ve had strong conversations, we’ve had a lot of different opinions offered in trying to put this budget together.
