A hit-and-run driver nabbed just as he crossed the county line has been bound to the grand jury on a long list of charges.The defendant, Scottie Nathan Coppinger, 34, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke and was bound on numerous charges stemming from two separate incidents.Charges stemming from the hit-and-run include possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, third-offense driving on a suspended license, following too close, failure to give notice of an accident and driving without insurance. Coppinger was cited for speeding, not having insurance and third-offense driving on a suspended license during an earlier traffic stop. All of those charges are part of those bound before the grand jury.According to Warren County sheriff’s deputy Ben Cannon, he was alerted to the hit and run accident which happened inside the city limits and fell in behind the suspect’s vehicle which was outbound on Highway 8 nearing the Van Buren County line on Harrison Ferry Mountain.
