One constable has resigned and others aren’t happy as a result of a recent discussion to abolish the elected position.“We’re not all bad,” said Jason Dodson, a member of the Warren County Constable’s Association who is taking exception to talk of doing away with the constable position. “Some people don’t like constables, some do.”One constable, John Norris of District 1, submitted his resignation to the county executive’s office and cited personal reasons for leaving his elected position.“The resignation was hand delivered to me by Constable Phillip “Tank” Young on Nov. 19,” said County Executive John Pelham, noting he will present the resignation before the next meeting of the county’s Safety Committee. After that, the floor will be open for recommendations as to who should fill the position pending the election in August.
