Collection agency pays off for city

The city’s decision to use a collection agency to obtain unpaid fines is working, according to McMinnville Police Department records.Solutia Revenue Recovery has collected over $12,000 and almost $4,000 more is expected for March.“We have received four checks from Solutia to date with a total amount of $12,126,” said McMinnville Police Chief Charlie Sewell.Since December, the department has received a check every month — December $831, January $569, February $3,903 and March $6,823. According to Sewell, the collection good news will continue.“We have receipts from March that indicate we should receive another check for at least $3,808,” he said. McMinnville officials signed with Solutia last year.
