Tennessee National Guard wing commander Col. Chuck Echols will be the keynote speaker Monday morning when the community pays tribute to those lost in battle at Warren County Memorial Airport.The annual Memorial Day ceremony will have its traditional 7 a.m. start time.Col. Echols will speak at Monday’s event after attending last year’s ceremony in a less prominent role. He was named commander of Tennessee’s Air National Guard 118th Wing last September.In appointing Echols, Maj. Gen. Max Haston, a Warren County native, lauded him as the right man for the job.“After nearly 100 years of flying some type of aircraft in the skies over Nashville, the new mission of the 118th encompasses intelligence, cyber warfare and remote piloted aircraft, and is vital to the security of our state and nation,” said Maj. Gen. Haston. Col. Echols is a graduate of the University of Alabama where he was commissioned in 1984.
