Coat giveaway to offer warmth this Saturday

Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville is gearing up for another day of helping people stay warm this winter by providing free coats this Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at Three Star Mall.Coats for the Community is a service project that provides coats and other cold-weather accessories to community members in need. Last year over 300 coats and items such as hats, socks and sweaters were distributed.Junior Auxiliary member Paige Chastain says the coat giveaway warms her heart.“We saw so many moms, dads, grandparents and children come through to pick out coats to help keep them warm. Getting to see the faces of the people we are helping is one of the rea-sons Coats for the Community is one of our more popular service projects.”While the event’s main focus is about keeping a body warm, they don’t forget the mind.
