Co-directors named for Main Street
FP2-Kings replacements
Paige Chastain, left, and Brook Holmes have been given the position of Main Street McMinnville co-directors. They will take the reins when executive director Carla King leaves this month.

Have you ever felt it would take two people to do your job? Main Street McMinnville executive director Carla King knows that to be true. Her position is being filled by two people acting as co-directors.
Main Street McMinnville’s board of directors has announced Paige Chastain and Brook Holmes will share the position of Main Street McMinnville executive director. They will be taking the place of King, who is resigning this month and moving to Charleston, S.C.
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve McMinnville as a champion of not only historic preservation and revitalization, but also retail development and community events,” said Holmes. “As the spouse of a decorated Army veteran, I am looking forward to serving the community by drawing upon my experience in management and event planning, as well as my travels abroad, to expand on the foundation that has been laid.”
At Tuesday night’s board meeting for July, the executive committee presented its recommendation to hire co-directors to the Main Street McMinnville board of directors.  The board upheld the recommendation by a unanimous vote, saying these candidates are the best fit for Main Street’s future.
“First, please know I am honored to be chosen as the co-director of Main Street McMinnville,” said Chastain. “As a McMinnville native, I’ve always had an interest in the revitalization and growth of the downtown area. Therefore, when I heard the executive director position was available, I immediately knew this job was for me. As I volunteered and learned more about the Main Street organization, my interest grew. I felt this job would allow me to utilize my passion for this community and strong work ethic to benefit in the evolution of the downtown area.”
The new co-directors offered praise for the work of King and the Main Street McMinnville organization.
“The Main Street McMinnville board and committee members along with outgoing director Carla King have done a tremendous job of making McMinnville's historic downtown district one of the finest in the country,” said Holmes.
Chastain added, “I am confident with the guidance and support of Randy Garrison and others on the Main Street board, Brook and I will be successful in our new positions.”
The co-directors will each be working part time and sharing the responsibilities of the position.
