The city may be lowering taxes.McMinnville officials are leaning toward a $3 million ending fund balance for upcoming fiscal year 2014-15, which could include a 10-cent property tax decrease to $1.99. “Presently, the way the fund balance is, we are starting with $5.92 million, which is an all-time high,” said Finance Committee chairman Ken Smith. “The projected fund balance for the end of this fiscal year is just slightly over $3 million, without donations to nonprofits.”The proposed budget has $59,078 built in for dues to organizations like UCHRA, the Chamber of Commerce, and Magness Library.
