The city of McMinnville is leveling a long-vacant house at 628 N. Spring Street as a safety measure.Demolition has been years in the works, but had been delayed because of an IRS tax lien on the property. The federal tax lien expired Feb. 26, 2012, according to McMinnville Planning and Zoning manager Josh Baker.“It was a safety concern and the family didn’t have the money to tear it down,” said Baker. “Once we tear it down, it will still be owned by the family and they can pay the lien and keep it.
