The Chamber of Commerce board of directors announced Thursday that Chamber president Alicea Weddington has been terminated.Weddington had served as Chamber president for the past seven years.Chamber board chair Cindy Rogers said the board will begin its search for a new director immediately. She indicated the board would look for the best candidate possible with some consideration given to hiring a local resident.Few details were given as to why Weddington was relieved of her duties other than to say the Chamber wants to move in a different direction.
