An 18-year-old female was transported to River Park Hospital yesterday after she stepped in front of a car on Sparta Street.Injured was Kelcey Johnson, who was hit by the car and smashed its windshield before landing on the pavement.The accident took place Thursday at 4:05 p.m., according to the accident report from McMinnville Police Department. Johnson was reportedly walking down Sparta Street when she stopped to cross the road on her way to Dollar General. It was at that point she stepped into the street.“She apparently misjudged the distance of the vehicle in front of her and ran out in front of it,” said McMinnville officer Bill Davis.
