It’s not often a property owner has to ask permission to remove a sign that’s over his own business. But that is the case with Diamond Jewelry Company president and owner David Stinson.In a letter to McMinnville Building and Grounds Committee chairman Ben Newman, Stinson has asked for the Park Theatre sign that’s above his building to be removed.Diamond Jewelry Company has been a Main Street fixture for over 53 years.In his letter, Stinson says there are several reasons for his request, including the desire to expand his own business. Stinson says the sign is rusty and dilapidated.
