Brown guilty of selling TennCare drugs

A woman caught selling medication bought for her by taxpayers through TennCare has been jailed and will be forced to give up her benefits for at least six years.The woman, Joyce Collins Brown, 57, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley and was instructed to serve 125 days of a six-year sentence, pay $2,000 plus costs and close out her TennCare benefits for delivery of morphine and fraudulently obtaining TennCare benefits. Brown must remain off the TennCare rolls until her six years on probation is completed. After that point, the law cannot restrict her from asking for the benefits back.Her sentence comes for obtaining and then selling morphine she was given through her TennCare benefits.
