Brady gets 2 years for taking purse

A purse snatcher has been sentenced to two years in prison.The thief, Steffen Matthew Brady, was issued the two year sentence by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley. His sentence will be served in the state penitentiary in addition to time he owes in neighboring Cannon County on other charges.His sentence comes after he confessed to the offense, taking responsibility for the crime which also saw his friend, Sonya Pendergraph, charged. She was granted an 11-month, 29-day probationary sentence for her part in the crime.According to Brady’s own confession, he and some friends went to the Dollar General store on Smithville Highway.“We noticed the trunk was open on a Nissan Maxima,” Brady said of the temptation presented him as he seized his target of opportunity.Brady said they pulled up next to the Nissan on the side of the store.“I took the purse out of the trunk,” Brady admitted, saying they then left the area and went to a location on Stoner Road where he rifled through the stolen purse.
