A drunk driver who hid his drugs in the bib of his overalls has been sentenced to 150 days in jail. The man, Troy Levon Boyd, 45, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of reckless endangerment, DUI and simple possession of drugs. He was ordered to serve 150 days of a one-year sentence and must perform 40 hours public service work, pay $1,200 plus costs, and lose his driver license for one year. His sentence comes after he was found trying to drive his wrecked car out of a ditch on South Chancery Street. Police Sgt. Kenneth Seagraves came upon the wrecked white Chevy Trailblazer and approached the driver.“He was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and very droopy eyes,” Seagraves recalled. It was then learned Boyd had taken a couple of Soma pills prior to the wreck.
