One person was airlifted Thursday afternoon to Erlanger Medical Center when a delivery truck crashed on Highway 56 North near Dibrell.
The victim and passenger in the box truck, Jason Bouldin, was airlifted from nearby Gath ballfield by an AirEvac helicopter minutes after the crash. He suffered a serious leg injury but his injury is not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the Barr’s Furniture delivery truck, Nathaniel Reagan, refused treatment.
According to Highway Patrolman Kyle Herrin, the wreck happened just after 1 p.m. on Smithville Highway near Boyd & Boyd Nursery. Reagan was traveling north on the way to make a delivery when he said he heard a noise and the truck began pulling to its right. He speculated a tire may have blown.
The truck then ran off the side of the road and struck a mailbox before continuing down a steep hill, striking a tree head-on at the bottom of the grassy ravine. The cab of the truck sustained heavy damage as the men were thrown forward by the impact.
