Blood drive set in Dunn's honor

The American Red Cross is proud to hold a very special blood drive in honor of Warren County resident Andy Dunn this Wednesday, May 8, from 1 to 7 p.m. at McMinnville Civic Center.
When Andy was just 4, he started experiencing pain in his hip. After undergoing tests, doctors determined Andy was battling stage four neuroblastoma that spread to his bones and into his bone marrow.
Andy has endured many rounds of adult chemotherapy, more than a dozen rounds of radiation and a stem cell transplant. Throughout his treatments, Andy has relied on blood products to continue his battle.
You can help children like Andy by signing up to donate blood at the drive being held in his honor May 8.
To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org.
The blood drive in honor of Andy is part of the Red Cross “Summer of Stories” campaign. With schools out of session and families on vacation, it’s difficult to collect enough blood and platelet donations during the summer months to meet patient needs.
The Summer of Stories campaign will be held through Sept. 9 to highlight the opportunities for blood and platelet donors to give patients a summer of stories with the Red Cross. All presenting donors will be entered to win one of five American Express gift cards ranging in value from $1,000 to $3,000.
