Beersheba Street Bridge blown

There was no departing ceremony for the removal of Beersheba Street Bridge yesterday. Other than the blast itself – an explosion that could be felt as much as it could be heard – the bridge was removed quietly.The old Beersheba Street Bridge was blown up Thursday around 3:45 p.m. Traffic was stopped in both directions for the blast with the street closed about 10 minutes total.“Everything went as we hoped it would,” said McMinnville Police Chief Bryan Denton. “From a traffic standpoint, we didn’t want the road shut down for long and the time it was closed turned out to be minimal.
