Two establishments will now be allowed to sell beer on the same property in Rock Island. Blue River Social Cafe, located at 1967 Rock Island Road in Rock Island, was granted a new beer permit by members of the county Beer Board last weekRachel Kohler applied for the permit as the owner of Blue River. She was joined at the meeting by her husband and business partner, Tim Kohler.The cafe is on the same site as Cotten’s Marina, which also has a beer permit.The Kohler’s original application had been marked as a request for an on-premises permit and an on- and off-premises permit, if approved.
