What appeared to be a united front by four members of the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen in an effort to remove a 300-foot distance requirement between churches, schools and places that sell beer came to an end Tuesday night. The measure failed on second read, 4-3. On first read in September, it passed 4-3.Switching sides was Mayor Jimmy Haley, who joined Aldermen Ken Smith, Mike Neal and Jimmy Bonner in voting to keep the 300-foot distance.
